Sheila Chiodo, CMA, CPA
With over three decades of experience in education and financial leadership, Sheila has built a distinguished career in public service. For 32 years, Sheila served the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board in progressive leadership roles, including Accounting Supervisor, Manager of Financial Services, and Superintendent of Business and Corporate Services, where she also held the title of Treasurer of the Board.
A Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) with School Board Supervisory Officer qualifications, Sheila has developed a reputation for excellence in financial management, corporate leadership and governance. Her areas of expertise include:
- Financial Services: Budgeting, provincial education funding, financial reporting, procurement, plant and facility operations and capital planning.
- Strategic Planning: Oversight of long-term capital investment projects, transportation, negotiating collective agreements and contracts,
- Technology Integration: Leveraging technology to enhance both educational and business operations.
- Policy Development & Governance: Crafting policies that align with organizational goals and fostering effective school board governance.
Throughout her tenure, Sheila has consistently demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence, ensuring financial sustainability while supporting innovative solutions to meet the needs of students, staff, and the community.
Outside of her professional role, Sheila remains an advocate for education, equity, and collaborative leadership.
